POWER BI
Building upon experience in data analytics design, Adam set out to redesign how a live metric tool is used on a mobile device. Each step of the process was informed by research and focus interviews with professionals in the big data space. The application demonstrates how the display of KPIs, live data feeds, and the creation of custom dashboards can be accomplished on a mobile platform.

RESEARCH
These are a few early examples of Adam’s thought process when he conceived the application concept.
TESTING
Paper prototypes were used in conjunction with a focus group to test potential layouts as well as application functions.
FEATURES
The core of this application was built around these three ideas.
VIEWABLE METRICS
MODULAR VISUALIZATIONS
SHAREABLE DASHBOARDS
VIDEO
With a video to summarize the application and its features, the redesign of Power BI is strong attempt to re-imagine mobile analytics.
Power BI is a product of and owned by Microsoft. This is a independent concept.
EXECUTION
Adam created a high fidelity mockup in Sketch to finalize the application’s experience. At the same time, assets from the file were used to make the motion-designed video seen above.
CONCLUSION
This reimagining of Power BI attempts to make data and metrics more accessibly and useful from a mobile platform. This project taught the importance of data analytics and the future of information technology in the field of design.

This piece was based on the Power BI data intelligence service provided by Microsoft and was created as a student project at Seattle Pacific University.
